Anna Mann visits the University Hospital of Lausanne for collaborative breakfast on palliative care
On the 3rd December, Anna Mann presented findings from the Ambizione-project «(Im-)Possibilities of Letting Life End» at the Research Breakfast of the Chair for Palliative Care and Supportive Care at the CHUV.
The Department for Palliative Care and Support at the University Hospital of Lausanne (Centre hospitalier universitaire vaudois, CHUV) treats adult patients of all ages with serious or progressive illnesses that limit their life expectancy. In her SNFS funded Ambizione project(Im-)Possibilities of Letting Life End, Dr. Anna Mann provides an ethnographic investigation into the ways in which in the clinical practices of medical specialties non-life prolonging treatment and care are made possible. At the research breakfast, the results of her study were presented to an interdisciplinary group of researchers and an engaged discussion between researchers and frontline healthcare workers ensued.
