Anna Mann has joined as a PostDoc researcher the Department of Sociology in 2024. She received her MA in Sociology at the Ludwig-Maximilians-University in Munich and completed her PhD under the supervision of Annemarie Mol and John Law at the University of Amsterdam. Subsequently, she worked at the Department of Anthropology at the University of Copenhagen. Currently, she is leading the SNSF Ambizione project “(Im-)Possibilities of letting life end. An ethnography of transformations in medical practice”.

Anna’s research focuses on emergences, enactments and transformations of “good” medical care at the beginning of the 21st century. It draws on actor network theory, material semiotics and other approaches developed in the field of science and technology studies (STS) and uses qualitative methods. It contributes to debates on care, values, critique and the medical profession.
