Welcome Paul Götz
We are happy to welcome Paul Götz as a PhD candidate at the Department of Sociology.
Paul joined the team of Prof. Dr. Katja Rost last month as a doctoral student and researcher.
His research interests include economic, social, and cultural history, economic sociology, consumption, food, hard-to-quantify phenomena, and text-as-data approaches.
In his dissertation, he constructs datasets of historical European culinary culture using large language models and explores them to address historical questions.
