Update of the Swiss Job Market Monitor dataset: Now with working time, work devotion, and work–life balance extractions
We are excited to announce that the Swiss Job Market Monitor dataset has been updated to cover the period from 1950 to 2025. The dataset offers invaluable insights into job market trends in Switzerland over more than seven decades, making it a rich source for researchers and policymakers.
In addition to extending the time coverage, the dataset includes previously released NLP-based skill and task extractions. These models identify the skills, knowledge requirements, and work activities described in job advertisements and link them to international labour market ontologies such as ESCO and O*NET, providing a unique basis for studying the changing demand for skills and tasks over time.
The update also includes newly developed NLP-based models that extract fine-grained information on working time, work devotion, and work–life balance from job advertisements. These newly added variables provide a unique basis for studying the evolution of working time requirements, employers' work devotion expectations, and the advertisement of work–life balance support and flexible working arrangements over time.
