Erik Ahlborn is a doctoral candidate at Prof. Dr. Katja Rost's chair at the Department of Sociology at the University of Zurich. He studied economics at the University of Bayreuth (B.Sc.) and the University of Tübingen (M.Sc.), specialising in economic history. His research interests lie in economic history, migration and climate history, and economic sociology. In his dissertation, he examines multigenerational social mobility in Switzerland from 1500 to 2000 based on digitised historical population and register data using methods of historical network analysis and econometric procedures.
