The focus of Prof. Dr. Gemma Newlands' team is on the sociology of societal digitialization, with a particular interest in the social dynamics of human-AI hybridity in the workplace. The advertised position will be embedded in this broader research program and contribute to several of its core strands, investigating themes such as augmentation, complacency, and temporal trade-offs.
As a student research assistant, you will support the research group through a variety of organizational and non-technical tasks that are essential for building and ensuring the quality of the project. With interest and relevant prior knowledge, technical tasks can also be undertaken.
Your Tasks
— This position will primarily be contributing to a longitudinal mixed-methods study combining surveys, interviews and follow-up assessments across different stages of working life.
— The candidate will also support in organising outreach and engagement activities (e.g., presentations, workshops, public-facing summaries).
What You Bring
— Enrollment in a Master's program (or advanced Bachelor's degree) in a social science field.
— Meticulous, reliable, and persistent work ethic.
— Interest in digitally-oriented research and working with diverse data types.
— Good German skills; solid English skills are an advantage.
