In the course of the two-day workshop, the participants will have the opportunity to

About us

We are a group of PhD Students and PostDocs at different departments of the University of Zurich (Education, Philology, Psychology, Sociology). We got to know each other in 2015 when we started the new "CAS Hochschuldidaktik". In one of the modules of the CAS, Katarina Mårtensson from Lund University introduced us to SoTL.
While some of us are relatively new to the concept and are just about to finish their first own SoTL project, others have several years of experience with action research or classroom research, even teaching it. What we have in common is our interest for university teaching issues and the motivation to reflect and develop our own teaching.
We are conviced that SoTL is an important and helpful instrument for investigating and refining one's own teaching. Moreover we thing that SoTL offers opportunities for curriculum development within a department or when addressing broader higher education political questions. We are thus keen on spreading knowledge about the concept of SoTL and to offer a platform for SoTL interested and experienced teachers/researchers. For that reason we applies for a Graduate Campus Grant to conduct this two-day workshop. Luckily, our inquiry was granted.
