Tina Baier is a visiting professor at the University of Zurich. Her research focuses on social stratification and the question of how social inequality is passed on across generations. She is particularly interested in the role that family contexts play in the development of children and adolescents and how social and genetic factors interact in this process.
She is also a researcher at the Berlin Social Science Center (WZB) and the Einstein Center for Population Diversity (ECPD). Her work combines approaches from life course, family, and inequality research and uses large population data sets to examine how family dynamics and social contexts shape individual life courses.
