Patrick Schenk is a post-doctoral researcher at the University of Zurich and a lecturer at the University of Lucerne. He’s interested in the intersections of morality, markets, and technology. He conducts research on timely social issues such as artificial intelligence, sustainable development, inequality, and culture, using surveys, experiments, content analysis, and in-depth interviews. He studied sociology, economics, and philosophy at the University of Zurich, where he earned his PhD in sociology in the year 2017. He was a visiting scholar at the Max Planck Institute for the Study of Societies in Cologne and at the University of Toronto. His work has been published in Socius, Sociological Science, Social Problems, Sociological Perspectives, Kölner Zeitschrift für Soziologie und Sozialpsychologie, Technology and Society, Sustainability, and many more. Besides research, he has a passion for teaching. He won the Best Teacher Award of the University of Lucerne twice in a row. He once said, “Research is best when it’s also fun,” and he still stands by it.
