Research Group LAbour, Generation, Stratification (AGES)

The Research Group Labour, Generation, Stratification (AGES) was founded in 2005 at the University of Zurich. We focus on employment and labour markets, generations in family and society, social stratification and social inequality as well as age(ing) and life courses. Connections between these research fields are especially important to us.

Analyses of life courses and social stratification provide us with a general framework. Within this context we are especially interested in the sociology of labour and family, and we conduct comparative theory-driven empirical research.

In addition, we offer lectures, seminars and colloquia in the fields of labour, generation, social stratification and methods of empirical research.

Current research results are presented as discussion papers P.AGES which can be found on our website and which are also available in print from our secretary without charge.

Further information on the members of the research group can be found on our corresponding homepages (please click on People).

An overview of our research projects is included in the research database of the University of Zurich.
